Automatic Logout

This article explains how the Automatic Logout feature works, who can configure it, and what users will see when their logout timer is about to end.

💡Pro Tip: Automatic Logout helps keep your organization's data secure by logging out of Hi Rasmus after a set period. Save your work often so you don't lose progress if your Hi Rasmus logout timer runs out!

How to Configure the Automatic Logout Timer

The Automatic Logout timer is set at the organization level. Once configured, it applies to every user in your organization.

⚠️ Only Manager level users can view or change the Automatic Logout setting. Admin and Staff level users do not see this setting.

To configure the timer, go to:

  1. Navigate to [Settings] > [Organization

  2. Select [Authentication]

  3. Scroll down to [additional authentication settings] and toggle on to enable for your organization

  4. Choose one of the available timer options:

    1. 9 hours

    2. 24 hours

    3. 1 week

  5. Your selection will auto-save

The 15-Minute Warning Banner

  • 15 minutes before your logout timer is set to expire, a banner will appear at the bottom of your screen

  • The banner displays a live logout countdown timer (minutes and seconds) that updates in real time and counts down to zero.

💡 If an user sees the warning banner and wants to keep working, select [CONTINUE SESSION] on the banner

What Happens When the Timer Reaches Zero

  • If the 15-minute warning period expires without any user action, the system will automatically log the user out Hi Rasmus.

  • The user will be redirected to the login page.

  • After redirect, the user must complete the full login flow to regain access.

  • On the login page, a banner is displayed indicating that you were signed out for security reasons.

Automatic Logout and Offline Mode

  • Automatic Logout behavior pauses when you are working in Offline Mode.

  • When the app is in Offline Mode, no warning banner, blocking modal, or automatic logout is triggered.

  • This ensures users running sessions without an active connection are not interrupted or signed out unexpectedly.

Logout Timers Across Multiple Devices

  • Each device login starts a fresh logout timer independently.

  • If an user is signed in on one device and then logs in onto a second device mid-logout tmer, the second device receives the full organization logout timer - it does not inherit the time remaining from the first device.

  • No logout timer is carried over or synchronized across devices.

🚨NOTE: This means each device is logged out of Hi Rasmus independently based on when that device's logout timer began.
