# Session Note Settings: Splitting Data in Session Notes by User
## Learn how to set up your note templates so that your session note data reflects the data collected by the user who wrote the note!
### When should the split note data by user setting be enabled?
- First, you would need to have a session data table included in your note template. ℹ️ [CLICK HERE](https://help.hirasmus.com/knowledge/session-note-templates?hsLang=en) to learn more about setting up a session data table to display session data in a note.
- This setting only applies if you are handing of a session to another user or leaving the session open for another user to pick up.

### Setting up Note Templates to Split Data by Users
1\. From the left navigation menu navigate to **\[Settings\] \>\> \[Templates\] \>\> \[Notes\]**
2\. Select the applicable note
3\. Scroll to the bottom of the note to access note settings. Check the box labeled "Show only the data collected by the user that is completing the note"
4\. Select **\[Save\]**
💡 Now, when more than one user conducts an activity / note within a session the data in the program data table will only reflect the data taken by that particular user.
ℹ️ If a user has more than one activity within a session, each note will reflect only the data collected within the notes corresponding activity.
